Bielema, Newkirk Comment on Outback Bowl

As part of an article from Jeff Potrykus on JSOnline yesterday, Bret Bielema and DT Mike Newkirk shared their comments on preparing for the Outback Bowl, as well as being the underdog for the third year in a row against an SEC opponent:

"It doesn't matter who we play," Newkirk said after practice Tuesday night. "We're always (predicted) to be on the losing end no matter who we play, what our record is, what their record is. It doesn't matter.

"If it's Big Ten vs. SEC, we're losing. That's all there is to it."

"The SEC has been able to go out and prove themselves year in and year out to be a quality opponent," Bielema said earlier this week. "And we've just been fortunate the last two years to play good football on the day that matters. That is game day.

"We won't change up (preparation). It doesn't matter if we're playing the SEC, the Pac 10 or Big 12 or whatever it is. I think it's about how you handle your business on a daily routine that will determine your success on game day."

Hopefully the Badgers can prove the Vegas oddmakers wrong for the third straight year and take down yet another SEC opponent.
